Help and Support

Click on any of the following topics for more information.

1) Delivery information

All orders are usually supplied within 7 days of order. Certain locations will take an extra day or two and additional delivery charges will also apply in these areas. These are shown below and should be added to your order at checkout.

Northern Ireland, 2-3 days - £7.50
Isle of Man, 2-3 days - £7.50
Eire, 2-3 days - £7.50
Scottish Highlands & Islands, 2-3 days - £9.95
Channel Islands, 2-3 days - £12.50

Occasionally a fabric may be out of stock but if we have a confirmed delivery date this will be shown on the fabric details page and we will still be able to accept orders. Your order will usually be delivered 7 days after the fabric delivery. If we do not have a confirmed delivery date the fabric will show as 'out of stock' and we will not be able to accept orders.

If you are ordering products that are available at different times we will usually deliver all items together once the whole order has been completed. If you wish products to be delivered as soon as they are available please place separate orders and we will despatch goods once each order is completed.

We can only deliver products in England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland (including both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland), the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man.

2) Returns policy

If you are unhappy with your purchase for any reason, please get in touch with us within 7 days of receiving your goods.

3) Do you have promotional codes?

Yes. If you have a promotional code for use with our site, please visit your Basket and enter the code in the appropriate box. You will then be notified of any discounts that have been applied to your order.

4) Measuring for curtain width

Always measure the curtain track or pole width, not the window. If fitting a new track or pole, this should extend 15cm to 30cm either side of the window (to allow the curtains to be stacked back off the window) and 12cm to 15cm above the window recess.

If you have a rail with a centre overlap, measure the rail as above then measure the overlap and add the two measurements together.

Download the measuring guide for more detailed information on measuring your curtains.

5) Measuring for curtain drop

Curtains are best hung either to the floor, to a sill or below the sill. We recommend that curtains finish either:

A) 1cm above the floor
B) 15-20cm below the sill (or 2cm above the radiator)
C) 1cm above the sill

Always measure in at least 3 positions across the track or pole as floors and sills are rarely level. To avoid curtains dragging across the floor or sill we recommend you use the shortest of these 3 measurements.

Pencil Pleat heading

When using a curtain track, measure from the top of the track to where the curtain is to finish. When using a curtain pole, measure from the underside of the decorative ring to where you want the curtain to finish.

Eyelet heading

The eyelet will fit poles up to 30mm in diameter. The inner edge of the eyelet is set down 3cm from the top of the curtain. Measure from the top of the pole to where you want the curtains to finish and add 3cm.

Download the measuring guide for more detailed information on measuring your curtains.

6) Hanging your curtains

Curtains and Valances

On unpacking your curtains or valance there may be some creases or pressure marks. These will normally fall out quickly after hanging in a warm room. Alternatively, the curtains or valance (except velvets) may be lightly ironed with a warm dry iron on the reverse side (hems and sides should not be pressed). Steam or excessive pressure or temperature should be avoided as these can stretch or shrink the fabric.

Velvets

Velvet pile is prone to flattening during transit or cleaning which can show as patches of darker and lighter shade. These marks will usually disappear when the curtains have been hung but it may be necessary to assist by careful steaming (with a kettle) and brushing upwards to lift the pile. Velvet should always be dry cleaned and never ironed.

Pencil Pleat Tape

The cords on Pencil Pleat tape must be tied at either end before the headings can be gathered.

Caring for your curtains - Cleaning

Recommended cleaning instructions for each fabric are shown on the website. Simply select the relevant fabric to see the care instructions. Please note these care instructions relate to the fabric and unlined curtains only. All lined or trimmed products should always be dry cleaned. A care leaflet is included with all curtain orders and a care label is sewn under the curtain heading.

Caring for your curtains - Shrinkage

For washable fabrics a shrinkage of up to 5% may occur if washing instructions are followed. To reduce the possibility, washable fabrics should be hand-washed, drip dried and ironed in a lengthways direction before fully dry. Shrinkage in any fabric can be minimised if your curtains are dry cleaned.

A guide to hanging and caring for your curtains is enclosed with all orders. We recommend that this is kept for future reference.
